Quality & Warranty Policy

Clear expectations for production quality and application responsibility

Last Updated: January 27, 2026

We Cover

  • Delamination (vinyl separates from backing)
  • Ink adhesion failure (ink flakes off)
  • Color accuracy deviation (outside ±5% DELTA-E)
  • Print registration errors (color misalignment)
  • Die-cut quality issues (ragged edges, incomplete cuts)

We Don't Cover

  • Bubbling/wrinkling due to dirty substrate
  • Lifting/peeling from improper surface prep
  • Fading from incorrect UV protection
  • Curling from humid/hot storage conditions
  • Damage during customer installation

The Rule

We guarantee production. You guarantee application.

Our warranty covers manufacturing defects only. If the issue originates from poor surface preparation, wrong adhesive, dirty substrate, or incorrect installation technique, it falls outside warranty scope.

Why This Matters

We're a supply-only manufacturer. We cannot control your customer's installation process. A perfectly printed vinyl can fail if applied to a dusty wall. That's not our defect—it's an application error.

This policy protects both of us: you get transparent expectations, and we don't eat costs for failures outside our control.

How to Claim a Warranty Issue

1

Submit Within 14 Calendar Days of Confirmed Delivery

Email clear photos of the defect + order number to studio@inkandpixelstudios.co.za

2

We Review

We assess if it's a production defect (our responsibility) or application error (yours).

3

If Production Defect

We offer a free reprint or full refund for verified quality defects within 14 calendar days from the confirmed delivery date. This warranty period is separate from the 24-hour pre-production cancellation window.

4

If Application Error

We'll provide guidance on proper application. On your next order, we'll include a free test strip to validate surface conditions.

Best Practices to Avoid Issues

Surface Preparation

  • • Clean substrate with mild soap + water
  • • Let dry completely (15-20 minutes minimum)
  • • Ensure no dust, oil, or residue
  • • Test on small area first (if possible)

Application Conditions

  • • Temperature: 15-25°C
  • • Humidity: Below 80%
  • • Use correct application fluid for vinyl type
  • • Avoid direct UV exposure for 48 hours after application

Storage (Before Use)

  • • Keep vinyl rolls/sheets flat or rolled
  • • Store in cool, dry environment
  • • Avoid heat sources and direct sunlight
  • • Remove from packaging only when ready to install

Post-Installation Care

  • • Do not wash for 48 hours
  • • Avoid abrasive cleaners (use gentle detergent)
  • • Protect from harsh weather where possible
  • • Expected lifespan depends on material + environment

Expected Durability by Material

Eco Vinyl (3-5 Years)

Suitable for: Indoor signage, covered outdoor spaces, event graphics

Note: UV exposure without protective lamination reduces lifespan significantly.

Premium 7-Year Vinyl (7+ Years)

Suitable for: Vehicle wraps, outdoor signage, full UV exposure

Note: 7-year claim assumes proper surface prep and normal environmental conditions.

Canvas/Photo Prints (5+ Years)

Suitable for: Indoor framed prints, protected wall art

Note: Archival quality depends on ink + substrate. Not rated for outdoor UV exposure.

Still Unsure? Order a Test Strip

If your substrate is unusual or you want to verify how our vinyl behaves on your specific surface, we offer test strips. Print a small sample, test it on your intended surface, and verify compatibility before committing to a full order.
